try chrome polish it won’t leave scratches and it protects the chrome

yes but they all flake off, if you are just trying to protect & cover a small amount of rust, try using grate polish u can get it from good hardware shops its what they used on the old black ranges- fire’s, it puts a nice blue-black sheen on chrome if you polish it of or leave on for a black finish it does rub of but will last a week or so do my down pipes with it once a mnth,
used the paints over the years they take longer to do & dont last & the more you do it the worse it gets chips n scratches.

looking at buying a yamaha xvs dragstar 125, but the only down side is that there are scratches on the side of the exhaust where it had been dropped by a previous owner?
is there anything that can be done, or do i have to accept that its gonna b like that?
is it a problem that could get worse with the elements as the metal is now exposed and will rust more…?!
