A ninja is a great beginner bike to get used to shifting at what not, but I can say that if you’re interested in riding for a long time, you’ll get bored with it. They are fantastic because they are so forgiving. Personally, I’d like to start on a 600cc GSXR or a Yamaha R1 and I’m a girl. There are numerous people I’ve heard of who started on 500s and ended up bored in a month. Keep in mind, anything above 500 (I think) isn’t forgiving. 600s have a harder riding stance too. But it’s really all about what you want from the bike. I suggest looking around. DO NOT fall in love with the first bike you go see, I’ve heard it happen and generally it doesn’t turn out well so shop around. If you have a friend who rides take them with you. But like I said it’s what your comfy with and know you can handle. If you decide to start on a 600 or 500 which isn’t likely because your looking at 250s, then they are NOT forgiving, make a mistake and you’ll regret it, give it too much throttle, you’ll regret it doing a wheelie you can’t handle. But that’s what riding is all about, the challenge and joy.I don’t know too much about Rebels but I do know much about Ninjas. Starting on one is highly recommended because of their forgiving nature and size. The riding stance is also more relaxed I believe. And I’ve been told not to let the letter R scare you away. But like I said, it’s all about you being comfortable with what your riding, after all what fun is it if you don’t enjoy it. Also saying all this I’m assuming your a guy, girls who want to or already ride bikes are rare, but if your not, the recommendations could go both ways. I’m not too sure on the exact differences between a 250 and a 250r but one ( the r ) does have a racing, hence the r for racing, package and is lighter. You may want to do more research on that.

I believe that the Kawasaki Ninja 250 is better than the Rebel. It uses less fuel consumption, easy to drive, faster and is more comfortable. The r in the 250r means that it’s more of a racing type rather than the 250 and is smaller than the other version.

Start safe, start with a kawasaki ninja 250. If you decide you want something bigger later then go for it, but the ninja is the safest way to learn the basics.
    good luck!

Well the Ninga is faster and has a worse ride as far as bumps and stuff on the street.Go with the Rebel if you weigh atleast 150,better ride but the bike weighs more then the Ninga.
