Is It Bad To Keep Riding My Motorbike With A Cracked Expansion Chamber?
I found a crack on the side of the chamber after the other day when i was riding it.. it was still running properly so i was just wondering if it is bad for it.

You can get away with it for a while, but I wouldn’t run it for very long like that.
The reason being, engines are tuned (jetted) to the exhaust system… the expansion chamber has a lot to do with this, and it involves everything from air movement to resonance inside the chamber. When the chamber changes, from a dent, to a hole, to an aftermarket style/shape, the air/fuel ratio will change. This could be a minor change that you wouldn’t notice, but it could cause the engine to run lean enough to cause drastically accelerated wear on parts. Unfortunately, you won’t know for sure how much the A/F ratio was affected, without test equipment.
So, try to get it fixed as soon as possible, but it’s not going to hurt if you run it a little here and there.
The bike won’t perform well as you don’t have the backpressure. Send it to be repaired
weld it asap
