How To Convince My Mum To Let Me Have A Motorbike??

Hey Everyone… Well Im a girl who desperately wants a motorbike!! Like everyday i ask my mum and everyday she says no. I dont understand, because even if i do like double my chores she still wont let me.
Shes used excuses like its illegal (and ive said to her that theres a place like 10 mins away from here where anyone can ride they’re bike without worrying about cops)
and also its too dangerous (well yeahh… i guess shes right there, but i love to do dangerous things… and well, who would ever go through life without doing something stupid or getting hurt? its just life! lol)
yeah and shes also used ‘its too expensive’ (when i’ve saved enough money to get one myself from doing my chores every week but still the answer is no!)
Can everyone give me some advice to convince my mum??
Or at least point her in the direction of letting me have one??
Any ideas will be appreciated thankss :)

You will never be able to convince your Mum of anything, because she is worried about you and wants you to be safe.
You don’t say what your age is or where you live in Aus, or the style of riding that you are interested in.
If it is dirt bike riding….. I really don’t know too much about that, but I do know that if you and your Mum, go to your local motorcycle dealership they will be able to tell you in detail what you WILL need, from Helmet style and AS1698 approved, to jacket, armour, boots, gloves, pants/jeans
And if it is road riding, then they will also direct you to what will be needed, Helmet style and AS1698 approved, to jacket, armour, boots, gloves, pants/jeans
I have provided the links for the licensing registration for the different states around Australia, if you are looking at road riding, then follow the rules and do what is required by the different states. (Even for off road riding there could be requirements so find out first)
I also know that many of the motorcycle Instructors feel that if they could sway the government in legislating it, that all new riders had to learn on the dirt first, because it adds skills needed when road riding, and driving, whilst road riding just opens up your skills for driving and being aware of the traffic around.
The other thing to do, is show your mum what people have written
I know how your mum feels, My 2 children are both into motorcycles one more so than the other (she lives eats dreams of bikes and she’s 3), and though anything could happen to them, when they get to the age of being able to ride, I will encourage them with the SAFETY aspect right at the forefront. Because then I will know that they did what was right for them and I knew about it, and they didn’t have to hide it from me.
Good Luck for both you and your Mum, because you will need it both in the compromising that will be needed for you to go and learn to ride.

Your mother loves you and cant stand the idea of you getting hurt or killed. You are a lucky girl that your mom cares so much about you. wait till your older and can do it on your own. You have a long life ahead to experience lots of things no need to rush into anything. When your older you probably wont want the same things you want now.

Don’t get a bike because others think you’ll be cool, or because other people have them. That’s the wrong reason to get a bike. Get it because you want it and have a passion for riding.
Stop trying to convince your mom. Don’t tell her, but show her that you are a responsible person. Be someone your mom can have confidence in without worrying that you’ll do something dumb. She cares about you and does not want anything bad to happen to you.
Always wear proper gear when riding, even when its too hot. There are alternatives that will help you keep cool and still offer good protection.
Start off with something small in displacement. Take a motorcycle safety course and improve your skills as much as possible. Master your motorcycle and your skills.
If you are still interested in motorcycling, then gradually move up to higher displacement bikes.
    Ride Safe!

You don’t say how old you are but I take it you are not of legal age to ride on the road. Ask her if you can buy a good used dirt bike (something small like 100 to 150cc) to start out with and learn on. And if you are old enough tell her you will take a safety riders course (if they have one in your area that is) and tell her you will always wear a helmet and you won’t do anything stupid. Because you won’t do anything STUPID! RIGHT? Good Luck!

Start out on a 1000cc like I did. Im really smart. Skip the mopeds and 500-600 sports, go straight to the Liter Class. Remember, its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. HaHaHa

I feel for you. Many of the things your mother is worried about (especially being dangerous) is true. I’ve owned 3 bikes (400cc, 500cc, and 700cc) and a moped in HS. And yet I often discourage people from getting a bike. Before I start, I just want to warn you that motorcycle is dangerous like riding a roller coaster WITHOUT seatbelts. No kidding. This is one of the few things in life, where the first accident could be your last accident. So alway wear a helmet for long biking experience.
Like so many things in life, you do everything in baby steps. First get a small scooter (or moped). Get her used to the idea of you riding something. Tell her it is nothing more than a bicycle with small motor (and in fact MOPED stands for Motor & Pedal OR motorized bicycle in old days).
If she’ll even fight that, get a motor adaptor for a bicyle. I know it is lame but you’ll only have it for few weeks. Then at least you got her started to accept you riding. Then when you complain enough (about the battery dying too soon, too weak to climb a hill, low quality, parts braking, etc.) the next step (above) is only a short hop away.
From then on you can slow upgrade to larger and larger bike. Actually this is also a very good method to learn to ride a bike (going from small to larger and larger size bike).
    Good Luck.
